Team Works

Laci coached Dori to the 1996 Olympic Trials. After the trials, they joined forces as a coaching team and co-founded Steel City Rowing Club (SCRC). During their tenure at SCRC, they were 10-time USA USRowing National team coaches and coached dozens of athletes to Youth National Championships, Summer Nationals and Canadian Henley podium finishes. They also hosted and coached the USRowing Men’s Sculling Development Camps from 2011 - 2014.

After a break in coaching, in 2017, Dori and Laci co-founded Sylvan Scullers to again coach committed rowers to reach their potential in sculling. They coach from their back yard on the scenic Allegheny River.

Laci rowed and raced on the Romanian National team as a junior and senior. Dori learned to row at her alma mater, Carnegie Mellon University and is a registered architect. Both are USRowing Level 3 Certified Coaches. They have one son who is currently rowing, two dogs and a cat. Both care for aging parents.
